  • Monitor and report the career experiences of each student and encourage each student to "Give Back" to new students or the program in their commUNITYs.

The process required to establish this program include:

  • taking inventory of its students’ current individual and family condition, and its vision for a future;
  • research all resources currently available to all students in the communities in which they live or work; and
  • assess how the resources available are used by or distributed through the particular community.
  • identify and recruit employers, potential mentors, or industry professionals that can provide specific career experiences that lead to an increase the student's, or the family's, economic state compared to the first interview.
  • report any trends.

Launched January 15th 2024,  this initiative serves to commemorate the hundreds of years of history that makes America and its Territories rich and noteworthy.  History, and remembering that history, is the very lifeblood of a People, a CommUNITY, a way of life.

It is with this vision, New Horizons CDC participates with many organizational leaders to develop, preserve or restore the historical and cultural icons in America and within the confines of its US Territories.

So, NHCDC launches its first focus are in Pine Bluff,  AR dating back to 1886.  The goal is to preserve a "Love Letter" by developing a Memorial Park and Education Center over the gravesites of former slaves held by a pioneer family.

The "Love Letter," however reveals the true humanity of a man and a woman despite the laws in the state of Arkansas.

The service area this initiative envisioned; Aurora Wards 1 and III; Northeast Denver’s Council District 8, 9, and 11; and our neighbors -  Southeast Commerce City to start.

The explicit mission of the New Horizons CDC is to contribute to narrowing the Wealth Gap issue first by:

  • Ensuring the delivery of effective Education about Financial Products and Services in our government or in the Private or Community-based sectors.
  • Making avenues available that maximize choice, or solutions when Accessing Capital, and hands-on mentoring and
  • Providing multi-lingual advisory and consulting by:

While our slogan can be reduced to “GIVE” but, our principles are steadfast in:

  • ASKING the question of neighbors, business, and community organization about what they want in there community instead of giving communities products, services, and infrastructure they may not want or may , in fact, be detrimental to the future of the community. This question is presented during a process called Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD),
  • ENCOURAGING an attitude of inclusiveness for improving a better quality of life for those more marginalized Americans. Encouragement is accomplished first through exposing financial literacy beginning in the early high school level and extending past retirement. Also, ensuring access to tools and solutions provides each neighbor with a level of confidence and pride.
  • PROVIDING business community-based, and family/individual development using accessible and affordable financial tools, products, and service.
  • HIGHLIGHTING cultural awareness through commUNITY Engagement, financial literacy and advanced education, and expanding the commUNITYs vision of, and active participation in, local and global economics.
  • EXPLORING new frontiers in industries not historically accessible to those economically challenged communities; those historically marginalized people; those asset-poor neighbors; and those credit-challenged individuals and businesses.

Here are the specific and major areas of focus NHCDC shall be engaged:

  " The exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) are charitable, religious, educational...

These are the focal points of our mission:

  • *Relief [for] the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged;
  • Advancement of religion (We prefer to label this a Spiritual Conscious) advancement of education or science;
  • Erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works;
  • Lessening the burdens of government;
  • *Lessening neighborhood tensions;
  • *Eliminating (Working towards) prejudice and discrimination;
  • *Defending human and civil rights secured by law;
  • *Combating community deterioration and
  •  *Combating juvenile delinquency (through creating viable/sustainable work opportunities in a variety of occupations that have a career focus).

* NHCDC is missioned because of the historic attacks and ravages of social and economic justice creating disparities that have impacted certain communities more so than others.  These disparities created large gaps in the psyche and in the presence of large groups of neighbors perhaps living, working, or recreating in the same, or nearby community.  NHCD programs and services propose to address these gaps in economic disparities and to encourage/empower those in community's social programming to be me efficient and inclusive in addressing the social and health issues in the commUNITYs where they serve.

Community assets map

New Horizons' leadership and staff recognizes the issue of Narrowing the Wealth Gap is an educational and an experiential one. The experience, however, must be accomplished in an atmosphere, and with support resources, that reduces the risk of failure.

In order to develop the community to look like the Asset-Based Map shown, ALL stakeholders in the community must be heard.  ALL must "Buy-in." And ALL must contribute/commit Time, Talent, and Treasury towards the benefit of the community served.  New Horizons CDC is missioned to support the ideals of Asset-Based Community Development one project at a time: brick by brick, and one family or organization at a time.

Uniquely, the New Horizons CDC embraces policies and procedures that promote collaboration, clear and straight forward communications, and insists on employing state-of-the art technologies and knowledgeable subject matter experts.

For example:

  • Establishing relationships with educational institutions beginning at Middle School and continuing through college or Trade School.
  • Embracing and employing professional subject matter experts to ensure New Horizons students are equipped to succeed and prosper.
  • Insisting that New Horizons students pass along their knowledge to younger generations as they meet along the way.
  • Promoting curriculum that is uniquely developed for audiences that may be low-income, marginalized, credit or otherwise economically challenged, or those leaving the Criminal Justice system.
  • Considering also, those community organization whose leadership want to do a good work but, funding and other resources remain a challenge.

These policies complement a set of collaborative product offers like automotive rent-to--own, credit repair, downpayment assistance, housing rent-to-own, import/export trading for small business, and more.

Location. Location. Location.

A high-quality, asset-builder is owning your home as opposed to renting your housing space.  NOW, NHCDC recommend buying housing tht has a multiplier effect.  That is, buying, or building, three or more units and living in one and leasing out the other units. In this scenario, you grow your asset, and, ideally, your mortgage costs are paid. Selecting good tenants, property maintenance and improvement are the biggest remaining consideration.

Close-quarter living, however, is not for everyone. Due to President Biden's Infrastructure Plan, you have opportunities to buy, build, or remodel urban or rural housing with renewable energy infrastructure with flood averse foundations and housing built with energy efficient building materials. All projects have significant tax incentives.

 Workforce development is dependent upon available workplaces.

Can you envision building or operating a regional Agriculture Waste Recycling Plant on an Industrial Park Campus?

Consider, also, the small, "Ma and Pa" landowners or entrepreneurs who want small parcels of land to raise honeybees?

Perhaps you are working out of your garage in need of tools or supplies to provide product for your mail order small business.

Individuals or groups are invited to inquire and to join an active team of reality dreamers.
