In the Beginning...
A Core Group, Low-Income Community Development matured to:
Asset-Based Community Development Group (ABCD) and its Core Members, led by the led by the Principal Partners of VetVest Group, LLC, created New Horizons Community Development Corp. (NHCDC) - an IRS Determined 501c( 3). Both are working together Revitalizing, , Reimagining, Renewing Financial Dreams for both public and private sectors.
For its Principal Partner, VetVest Group, it can be argued, is a divine ordination - a culmination - of many decades of employment, contracting, and small business experiences in computers, communications, commUNITY, and real estate.
In a cycle of research and development since 2019, New Horizons CDC launched in response to a commUNITY-wide response to the question, "How can the African Diaspora Expect Political Parity without Economic Equity?" A multi-cultural steering committee was convened to address this issue and led by VetVest, launched NHCDC September 11, 2023!
Key Programs include:
1st Stop: Altschul-Carson Memorial Garden – a 2+ acre in Pine Bluff, AR. - recognizes the "Love Letter of 1886" which captures the true essence of a man for a woman despite the laws of the land.
Currently, the project is in the research phase and promises to be a national and local Heritage Tourism site by 2026.
All activity begins in the beginning. The business of VetVest Group, LLC evolved over a lifetime of work experiences, dreams, and several startup businesses that exercised the ministry given to the Founding Partner of this new startup called, VetVest Group, LLC.

The goal, therefore, is to strive for "a more perfect union..." in communities that are impacted by disparities in the Wealth Gap and to to provide resources like Access to Capital, financial education, support services, and traditional and non-traditional opportunities to Narrow that Wealth Gap.

It is the opinion of many experts and lay persons that Financial Education is unevenly provided in our American Education Systems. For example, urban schools may, more or less, offer Financial Literacy; Councilors may encourage some students and not others; and parents or mentors may, or may not, insist on financial responsibility. Commercial outlets, especially television, encourages spend-spend and live NOW and pay later by the swipe of an easily obtainable card. Many are consumed in debt.
NOW, how to exit from debt and acquire wealth becomes an issue. Consider those who may have a few thousand dollars of debt and first, only consider bankruptcy as a solution. They have not considered paying a little more on principal, consumer credit counseling, or bill consolidation if they have assets.
